Sander Aeronautics is restoring one of their original Hawker Sea Fury T Mk.20's "924", complete with state-of-the-art avionics and Centaurus Mk.18 power.

"924" (Construction #ES.8502) was built by Hawker-Siddeley Aircraft Ltd. at Langley, England and first flew in 1954, remaining in England until it was delivered to the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn, Germany on August, 29, 1958. The red-painted aircraft were contracted to the Luftwaffe to provide towed targets for both naval and artillery gunners.

After being retired from target towing in 1970, "924" was purchased by Doug Arnold on July 30, 1974 and registered G-BCKH. John J. Stokes of Warbirds Of The World, based in San Marcos, Texas, purchased the aircraft and it was delivered to the United States, via Prestwick, on October 20, 1974.

Lloyd Hamilton purchased this T Mk.20, registered it as N924G, and brought it to Chino, California to have Sanders Aircraft install F-102 wheels and brakes. One thing led to another and Frank Sanders/Sanders Aircraft purchased "924" in 1978 and painted it in Royal Navy 924 colors. "924" was also flown as race 88 at the National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada.

This Hawker Sea Fury is now being rebuilt by Sanders Aeronautics to the highest of standards, with some components of the airplane having never flown. No expense is being spared to restore "924" to one of the finest flying Sea Furies in the world.
